WABX Productions: The Student-Led Legacy of FOEN25

WABX Productions: The Student-Led Legacy of FOEN25

The lights have dimmed, the cameras have powered down, and the final echoes of applause have faded into memory—but the legacy of FOEN25 lives on. This wasn’t just another conference. This was history in the making. And at the heart of it all? A team of Middle School and High School students who rose to the occasion and redefined what’s possible.

From the very first morning, WABX Productions faced a challenge worthy of the history books. Technology failed. Systems crashed. Information arrived at the last minute. The team spent the entire morning locked in battle with an uncooperative setup—screens flickered, translations failed, and audio refused to sync. But passion is the lifeblood of WABX Productions, and giving up was never an option. By 14:30, after relentless problem-solving, every system was in place. Five minutes for rehearsal? No problem.

As the session unfolded, the audience watched in awe—not just at the event, but at the sheer level of professionalism displayed by our students. The leadership team took notice. “I’ve run a digital agency for 17 years, and what you have achieved here outpaces some of my former employees who went to university to study this,” remarked one of the core members of the organization of FOEN25.

A storm was brewing. And this was just the beginning.

Next morning, the team arrived earlier, more determined, more confident. But FOEN25 had other plans. Half the systems that worked the night before had inexplicably failed. Two hours to fix everything.

Non-stop, hands-on, thinking-on-their-feet problem-solving ensued. The team pushed forward with an intensity that only those who have truly embraced their craft can understand.

At 9:10 AM, already 10 minutes behind schedule, with one final issue still unresolved, Dr. Marta Medved had to make the tough call: “We start now.” But just as our guest speaker abroad was about to take the stage, the team cracked the code, solved the issue, and pulled off the ultimate last-minute save. The moment the guest appeared on screen, the control booth erupted like a team that had just won the World Cup.

Same day afternoon, the second session posed a new challenge—many of our senior members had athletic commitments, so the younger students had to step up. And they did. Middle schoolers took over key production roles with the confidence and grace of seasoned veterans. Kara mastered camera control like a pro. Sean and Aaron ensured every moment was captured with precision.

As the sun set on Day 2, 80% of the team went home to rest. The remaining warriors stayed behind, editing the highlight reel that would close the conference with a bang.

After a sleepless night, the team walked into the MS Gym one last time on day 3.

But this time, something was different. They had earned their stripes. They knew what to expect. They were ready.

The storm of technical failures never came. Instead, FOEN25 ended in a celebration of everything WABX Productions stands for: creativity, resilience, and showmanship. The gym came alive to the sounds of "Sushi, Kimchi and Dumplings", the band led by two of our own WABX Productions members, Juwon and Hajin, setting the stage for a grand finale that belonged to the students.

The FOEN25 highlights video, edited overnight with painstaking detail, sealed the event with thunderous applause. It was the recognition of a month of dedication, sweat, and pure passion.

And with that, the first international conference show run entirely by Middle and High School students came to an unforgettable end.

It’s important to emphasize, none of this would have been possible without the parents who believed in us. You entrusted your children to be a part of something larger than life, and they delivered beyond expectations. Thank you for allowing them to be part of this journey. They have set a new bar, a new standard. They have made history.

FOEN25 may be over, but this is only the beginning. A new standard has been set. What we have accomplished here is more than just a production—it’s a movement. FOEN26 in Abu Dhabi has some enormous shoes to fill in.

So, to every student who worked late nights, solved impossible problems, and proved that age is no barrier to greatness—this is your legacy. Own it, breathe it, live it. And never stop chasing what’s possible.

The best is yet to come.
