Board of Trustees
The Western Academy of Beijing is an independent not-for-profit international school overseen by an all-volunteer Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is comprised of members appointed by the WAB Foundation, the WAB Board itself and elected by the School’s parent community. The work by the Board of Trustees is guided by the Constitution of WAB including the fundamental documents and has the following overall responsibilities:
- Hiring, supporting and evaluating the work of the Head of School
- Ensuring the long-term financial stability and sustainability of the School
- Prepare and approve school policies
- Participate in the vision and strategy work of the School
Each year the Board establishes goals to fulfill its responsibilities and establishes committees to carry out the work. The Board is accountable for ensuring that the School achieves its Mission, brings together the WAB families and all of the WAB Community and maintains and nurtures the collaborative and supportive Culture of WAB.
