Loaner MacBooks
WAB's 1:1 laptop program is supported not only by on-site Apple Care to provide prompt repair services but our IT Helpdesks also facilitate continued learning by providing loaner MacBooks to students who have a genuine reason to seek their use.
Following policy statements apply to the loaner MacBooks:
- Loaner MacBooks can be checked out for use during school day only and limited to following cases:
- Student's MacBook is in repair for software or hardware by WAB IT Helpdesk or on-site Apple Care.
- Student forgot their MacBook at home that particular day.
- Student's MacBook is charging at the IT helpdesk charging station.
- Student's ID card is required to check out a loaner MacBook. ID card is held at IT Helpdesk till return of the loaner MacBook.
- Loaner MacBook transactions are documented via IT Helpdesk Ticket.
- Loaner MacBooks are kept in full working condition at Help Desks. They shall be checked by students when checking out and any apparent cosmetic or functional issue shall be noted in the Helpdesk ticket.
- All damages or losses are payable in full for the replacement cost of WAB's loaner MacBook.
- Loaner MacBook shall be returned at the end of every school day. Exceptions are granted only by written note in the Helpdesk ticket by IT Manager.
- Loaner MacBooks shall not be taken off campus except with permission by IT Manager.
- All cases of non-compliance, damage or loss will be referred to school section principal for communication and action with students' parents or guardians.
Laptop Chargers
WAB IT Helpdesks DO NOT provide chargers (adapters) on loan.
Charging stations are available at MS and HS IT Helpdesks and students can leave their computers to charge while they take a loaner MacBook to carry on with their work.
