Leaving Students and Technology

The basic guidelines for leaving students include:

ES Students computers - WAB owned

  • The MacBook you have been using and the software installed in it is owned by WAB and will be retained for use by new students.

MS and HS Students computers - Student owned

  • You must bring your computer to your school section's IT helpdesk at least three days before you leave WAB for:
    • removal of WAB's 'Casper' software which is used to deploy software to your computer during your time at WAB.
    • verify that all WAB owned software has been removed from your computer as per the 'software use agreement' signed by you and your parents / guardians when you joined WAB.
  • You must bring the leaving student check-out form along with your computer to your school section's IT helpdesk which will verify that all WAB licensed software has been removed, IT helpdesk tickets opened by you are cleared and that you have returned all loaner IT equipment you borrowed from WAB IT. You will be financially liable for any WAB loaner equipment' loss or damage while it was checked out to you. WAB finance department, your school section technology integrator and administration team will contact your parents or guardinas with details of the damage as soon as IT has reported this to them.

Your WAB IT account and data

  • Your WAB IT account will be disabled at 23:59 hrs on your last day at WAB. You will be unable to access any WAB IT services after this.
  • Your email address at WAB will stay valid for about 3 months after your last day at WAB but you will not be able to login to your WAB mailbox. Please set a forwarder and an auto responder if you need before you leave WAB. IT helpdesk can assist you in doing so.
  • Your Toddle portfolio, if you have one, will be sent to you as a zip file.
  • All other data you posted on WAB's IT services such as Teams messages, Sharepoint content, Emails, Photos, Videos, etc., will stay intact till a time that an administrator removes or changes the information or that particular IT platform is decommissioned. Anything you posted or uploaded for public access will be still available but you will not be able to access any data stored for private access only. Please be sure to download and save on personal computer or hard drive anything you need before the end of the school year.
  • Emails from your WAB's mailbox can be exported or copied out to your private mailbox using an email client software. See IT Helpdesk for assistance if you are interested in this.
