- An ASA bus stop is provided when there is a minimum of five (5) Elementary School students living in the same compound and requesting the same bus stop.
- A Late Bus stop is provided when there are five (5) MSHS students living in the same compound and requesting the same bus stop.
Bus Schedules
In order for buses to keep to their schedules in the mornings, and not to inconvenience other students, all buses have been directed to leave at the scheduled time. Please be on time to the bus stop.
Please note, it is not necessary to notify the bus supervisor if your child(ren) are not taking the bus in the morning. The bus will depart at the scheduled time and not wait for late students or make phone calls to parents in the morning.
Picking up ES Students from the Bus Stop
Early Years and Junior Grade 1
These students must be picked up by a parent, guardian or ayi. WAB does not allow EY or JG1 students to walk home alone, with an older sibling or anyone else under 18 years of age. If a parent, guardian or ayi, is not at the bus stop to collect the child, the protocols listed in the WAB Transportation Policy will be followed.
Senior Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3
These students must be picked up by a parent, guardian or ayi; unless parents give permission for their child to walk home alone. Parents must notify the school about their child’s bus stop requirements by completing a Transportation Department survey prior to your child’s first day of school (each year). If a parent, guardian or ayi is not at the bus stop to collect their child (that is normally picked-up), the protocols listed in the WAB Transportation Policy will be followed.
Grades 4 and Grade 5
These students are allowed to walk home alone. Parents do not need to notify the Transportation Department about their child’s bus stop requirements, but they are encouraged to.
Elementary Students and After School Activities (ASA)
When Elementary students sign up for the formal ASA program they will automatically be scheduled on the 4:35pm ASA Bus (and removed from the Regular Bus at 3:30pm). If students will not attend ASA’s for reasons other than absence from school, parents must notify the ASA coordinator, ES Reception and the Transportation Department.
Changes to Elementary Students taking their Regular or ASA Bus in the Afternoons
If your child is not taking the bus, is riding another bus, or will stop taking the bus, please send an email to [email protected]. Please use these guidelines for your email.
If you are on campus and your child will be changing their end of school day bus routine on a given day, please complete a Bus Change Slip at ES Reception. This will aid in the reduction of school bus delays as all our ES students are tracked from the moment they step on the school bus in the morning until they step off from the school bus in the afternoon.
Always notify the Transportation Department at [email protected] for any changes in your child's transportation needs, whether it is a daily ad hoc change, a temporary change, or a permanent change. If emailing these changes, please use these guidelines.
MS/HS Students and Afternoon Buses
Due to the number of ASAs in which MSHS students are involved, it is impossible to track daily student schedules. Buses and Bus Supervisors will not wait for MSHS students after the scheduled departure time.
WAB Parents Using Buses
Parents are not allowed to travel on WAB school buses.
