Technology
We use a variety of trusted and innovative technologies to support student learning at WAB, and we use them in a way that develops our students as thinkers and creators. We care deeply about nurturing these essential human capabilities in diverse and exciting ways. Kevin Crouch, Head of EdTech IT and Library
WAB uses technology as a tool to accelerate personalized learning for students and support their choice, voice, and ownership over their learning. Our expert educators and technology professionals balance digital literacy and critical thinking, to help shape students into creative communicators, designers, problem-solvers, and responsible digital citizens.
As an Apple Distinguished School, WAB provides access to cutting edge learning tools and professional-level creative software to ensure students of all learning styles are growing and thriving. In addition to the integration of technology we have come to expect in top-tier schools such as WAB, the ability to explore new and exciting technology such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality as part of our learning experiences brings our students’ engagement to a whole new level.
Ethical AI Use for Learning
WAB embraces AI as a thought partner in support of student learning. Where appropriate, and never at the expense of valuable teacher interaction, students may use AI as a tutor, coach, or expert teammate to offer just-right and just-in-time learning experiences.
AI can provide personalized feedback and guidance to support to each student, based on their individual needs, goals, and interests. AI can also challenge and inspire students to explore new domains, perspectives, and possibilities, beyond the boundaries of textbooks and classrooms. By using AI thoughtfully and ethically, we empower our students to become expert learners, innovators, and leaders in the digital age.
