Alumni Spotlight: Zak Lefevre
Zak Lefevre is known for his entrepreneurial spirit. As the Co-Founder and CEO of ChargeLab, Zak has played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the electric vehicle (EV) charging industry.
Zak's journey began at WAB, where he graduated in 2010. He then went to McGill University, where he earned a degree in Computer Science and Finance. During his time at university, Zak started his first business, selling house painting jobs and recruiting other students to complete them with him.
After working in several technology start-ups and participating in various start-up accelerator programs, Zak founded ChargeLab in 2016. The company’s mission is to build scalable EV charging solutions that make EV charger deployment fast, affordable, and accessible to more people.
ChargeLab's core product is its cloud-based charging station management system, which offers user-friendly apps for EV drivers, comprehensive dashboards for fleet managers, and open APIs for seamless integration with third-party systems.
Over the years, ChargeLab has emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing EV charger management platforms. The company collaborates with renowned brands such as ABB, Eaton, and Siemens to support the best smart charging hardware around the world.
Zak's passion for innovation and making a positive impact continue to drive his career as well as his company. In 2022, he has been featured as a Forbes 30 under 30 Founder, who has successfully raised over US $30 million in funding for ChargeLab.
"Living in Beijing and attending WAB gave me a global perspective at a young age," said Zak, "This has been indispensable for thinking bigger about my business and my career. The diversity of thought I was exposed to at WAB really accelerated my trajectory."
