Alumni Spotlight: Chlo? Stewart Class of 2009?
Chloë graduated from Babson College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Entrepreneurship and a passion for finding innovative ways to utilize food waste. This passion was the drive to launch a blog focused on upcycling leftovers and creating no-waste recipes.
Following 2 years of running the blog, Chloë founded Nibs Etc, a company that produces delicious upcycled snacks from ingredient by-products that would otherwise be discarded. In 2017, Chloë’s efforts were recognized with two prestigious awards: the Cotswold Fayre Young Food and Drink Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and a WeWork Creator Award. This recognition gave Chloë the confidence and resources to further expand their impact and scale the business. They are now working toward being a household brand in the UK for upcycled snacks and expanding their circular supply chain nationally.
Chloë’s Grade 10 personal project allowed for her obsession with food to grow to new heights. Her passion for eliminating food waste developed over the course of her life and culminated in a volunteer farming experience in 2014. Her life hack is don’t buy what you don’t need – the most sustainable thing to use is what you already have. And of course, #ThinkBeforeYouToss.
"There's no doubt that my experience at WAB completely shaped who I am today, both in a personal and professional capacity. If I had to try to whittle it down to a few words, it would be to lean into the fear and freedom that change presents. And that when things are changing so frequently - friends, teachers, courses - there's no time to pick and choose, and you may as well go in with kindness and an open mind," said Chloë.
