Tiger Leadership
Welcome to WABX Tiger Leadership! At WAB, we're dedicated to offering High School students dynamic leadership opportunities that go beyond the classroom. This program is your chance to earn valuable certifications, gain real-world experience, and build a resume that will set you apart in your post-high school endeavors.
Whether through existing programs or new student-driven initiatives, the Tiger Leadership program will support students in developing the skills they need, in areas such as event management, musicians-in-training, fitness center supervision, lifeguarding, and so much more.
What We Offer:
- Re-Certification in First Aid/CPR: Available in the fall, winter, and spring.
- Leadership Roles: Starting with our Coach in Training (CIT) program, we'll expand into event management, fitness center supervision, lifeguarding, and more.
Tiger Leadership in Training
Coach in Training (CIT)
Become a certified coach for a Middle School team and earn your NFHS/CCCA Coaching Certification in a sport you love. As a CIT, you can coach any of the sports WABX supports at the Middle School level:
- Soccer
- Basketball
- Softball
- Volleyball
- Cross Country
- Baseball
- Swimming
- Badminton
Coach in Training (CIT) Requirements:
- Commitment: Coaching twice a week is a must.
- Planning: Attend planning sessions with your teacher coach (mentor).
- Coursework: Complete three online NFHS/CA coaching courses tailored to your sport, middle school coaching, and student leadership. www.nfhslearn.com

- Advanced Coursework: Continue your online studies to achieve NFHS Coach Levels 1, 2, or 3.
- Skill, Knowledge & Understanding of Team & Culture: Show your passion and expertise in your chosen sport. Demonstrate your skills and gain approval from the Athletic Director. This is your moment to shine!
- Follow-up Sessions: Participate in sessions to discuss strategies and techniques with guest instructors and master coaches during specified blocks on Day 9.
Cost and Other Details:
- Fees Covered by WABX: Your NFHS coursework and First Aid certification are paid for by WABX.
- Professional Coaching Kit: You'll receive a kit to kickstart your coaching journey.
- Completion Requirement: If you don’t complete your coursework or decide to quit coaching, you'll need to repay the fees.
How to Become a CIT:
- Apply Online: Fill out the application form.
- Register as a Coach: Sign up at the NFHSLearn website.
- Complete Coursework: Finish the required NFHS courses.
- First Aid/CPR Training: Attend and complete the training on Day 9.
Once your application is complete, you will receive an email with approval and steps to create a NFHS learn account.
