WAB's New Website!
Our updated website launched this week! This redesign is more than just a fresh look with our new colors—it's our next step in sharing the amazing learning and experiences our students have each day. It also gives prospective families a better understanding of who we are before they even step on campus. Join us for a Q&A with Irina Mach, WAB's Director of Marketing, Communications, and Admissions, to learn more about our new site!
1. Why did WAB decide to update its website? What inspired the change?
As an innovative school, WAB has grown and evolved over the past eight years since our previous website was created. We wanted a website that better demonstrated the dynamic, welcoming atmosphere of walking onto our campus. It was also important for us to find better ways to share the kind of learning that happens every day at WAB. The new website incorporates our refreshed branding and colors, more engaging videos that highlight our students’ voices and actions, and an improved navigation system to help prospective families easily discover more about us.
2. How does the new website better reflect WAB's approach to learning?
At WAB, we emphasize student voice, choice, and ownership, and we wanted this to come alive on the new website. The updated site features more student voice, particularly in the school section videos. We also want to encourage prospective families to view the site together and are especially proud of the "Learn" pages for each school section. Here, visitors can toggle between "Parent View" and "Student View," providing tailored information for both audiences. The student view content is presented in an age-appropriate way, and for High School, much of the information was provided by the High School Student Ambassadors Club.
3. What role did the WAB community play in shaping the new website?
As part of our overall brand refresh, focus groups with parents, staff, and students provided feedback on how WAB is presented. Their website-specific feedback included requests for easier access to calendars, consolidating all information onto one site, and suggestions on how the website could better reflect the WAB of today and tomorrow.
4. What are the standout features of the new website?
The updated website has several features designed to enhance the user experience. The improved navigation makes it easier for families to find what they need, and the design reflects WAB’s innovative, China-engaged, and student-centered approach. With more photos and videos, the website better shows what life at WAB is like.
5. What updates are planned for the future?
Our next focus is on the Parent Portal. In the coming months, we’ll be refreshing its design and functionality, with a particular emphasis on improving navigation to ensure families have a seamless and efficient experience.
Our website is not static, it will also continue to grow and evolve WAB does, and we already have some ideas on what’s next.
