Celebrating WAB's 30th Birthday

Celebrating WAB's 30th Birthday

Our 30th-anniversary video brings to life WAB's journey from our first day with 149 students in 1994 to the world-leading school we are today. Check out the video and enjoy this snapshot of our history!

In the past week, WAB celebrated its 30th anniversary with two unforgettable days of events that brought together community members old and new. On Sunday, September 1, over 2,500 people gathered on campus for an extra-special birthday Community Picnic. It was a day filled with lively music, exciting games, and great food. Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us!

On September 2, the WAB community once again united for a special whole-school assembly and photo. Joining us at both events were WAB's three founders, Sabina Brady, Michael Crook, and Hilary Munro as well as previous WAB directors, founding employees, and many of the wider community members who were integral to WAB's growth.

A highlight of the day was the whole-school photo, where the community gathered on the field to spell out 'W A B' before enjoying colorful birthday cupcakes.

To honor WAB's 30th Anniversary, a special award was established to recognize students and staff who exemplify the qualities embodied by the?Profiles of WAB Alumni. This initiative bridges the past, present, and future of learning at WAB, showcasing how our community members uphold our core values and make a difference locally and beyond. Award winners were announced at the assembly on September 2. Stay tuned to WAB Weekly for more about our inspiring applicants.

These two days of celebration brought our community together to honor everything we’ve achieved as a school and a community, while also looking ahead to the future to imagine what our next 30 years might look like.  Thank you to everyone for making WAB a special place where everyone belongs.?
