Celebrating the Results of WAB's Class of 2024
Congratulations to the Class of 2024! After four years of resilience and hard work, our 2024 cohort has demonstrated remarkable academic strength and achieved outstanding IB results. ?
In total, 64 students were awarded the full IB Diploma Programme (DP), with an average score of 33, which is nearly three points higher than the global average. The cohort also attained an average subject grade of 5.28. ?
WAB is an inclusive school, welcoming all students who opt to undertake the demanding IBDP. Our teachers are committed to nurturing each student individually, challenging them to reach their full potential while providing the necessary support to achieve success. ?
"We are proud of the achievement of all our students," said Ian Featherer, High School Curriculum Coach and IB DP Coordinator at WAB. He added: "WAB encourages all students to challenge themselves and engage in rigorous academics with the support of our faculty. We do not limit students from participating in the DP program and our results are well above the global averages while also educating the whole child with robust SEL (Socio-Emotional Learning) and extracurricular programs."? ?
Notably, 21 students have earned the Bilingual Diploma, choosing to challenge themselves bi-lingually across Chinese, Danish, German, Japanese, and Korean. The number of languages in the bilingual diploma program reflects the diversity of WAB students and underscores their commitment to multilingualism.
Ian also noted an increase in Theory of Knowledge (TOK) scores, with over half of the cohort achieving A or B grades, helping them maximize additional points from the Core components of the DP program. ?
This year's students overcame the continued disruptions caused by COVID and ultimately only experienced a return to a full year of academic and extracurricular activities last year.
"There are so many reasons we are proud of the graduating class of 2024! Their connection with each other, their resilience, and their engagement throughout their high school journey," said Jaime Pustis, WAB's High School Principal. She added, "We are also so proud of the knowledge, experiences, dedication, and heart that our students demonstrated throughout High School and in their final exams. We will surely miss this incredible cohort!" ?
