A Recap of Season 1 APAC Arts Celebrations?

A Recap of Season 1 APAC Arts Celebrations?

November marked the culmination of a vibrant Season 1 of APAC Arts events, showcasing the talent and creativity of students across the APAC schools.?

?APAC Choir Festival at TCIS, South Korea?

?Our APAC Choir has traveled to Taejon Christian International School (TCIS) in South Korea for a grand choir festival, uniting six APAC schools. Led by Michelle Yip, WAB's High School music teacher, our chorists performed two songs and joined the final massed choir rendition of six additional songs."These festivals are celebrations of choral singing, not competitions and it's always exciting to see and hear the varied repertoire from the different schools, along with the dynamism of being part of the massed choir," said Mark Armstrong, WAB's WS Music Coordinator.????

APAC Dance Festival at UNIS, Vietnam?

Our APAC Dance team traveled to the United Nations International School of Hanoi (UNIS), where schools could present up to 10 dancers each. Under the guidance of Christina Markowski and Rocia Chain, our dancers performed individual pieces and took part in collaborative workshops and the finale around the theme "Dance to Inspire". The individual school performance was choreographed by our students, with many of them having the experience of last year’s festival.??

APAC Orchestra Hosted at WAB?

WAB proudly hosted the APAC Orchestra from November 14 to 16, featuring our talented string ensemble directed by Brenda Li of the Asia Philharmonic Orchestra and Chief Cellist of the Beijing Philharmonic. This year, we welcomed five APAC schools, allowing students to collaborate and form a unified orchestra. Under the direction of guest conductor Professor Mark Gibson, Director of Orchestral Studies at the China Conservatory of Music, the ensemble performed a diverse selection of pieces centered around the theme "Strings Without Borders". The finale performance took place at the Gala concert held in WAB's Founders Theatre on the night og November 16. ??

"There is a special dynamic to being part of such a large orchestra and our students enjoyed the comradery of being with the musicians from the various schools," expressed Mark.??

Congratulations to all of our dancers, chorists, and string musicians for their dedication and brilliant work. Looking forward to the next celebration of arts and creativity in the upcoming showcases.??
