Beijing, May 6th, 2024 – The exhilarating track and field season for Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) culminated in a series of outstanding performances and remarkable achievements, showcasing the athletic prowess and dedication of our students.

 

ISAC Competition at ISB (April 13th, 2024)

The season began with a high-energy competition at the International School of Beijing (ISB), where schools including WAB, ISB, Daystar, BSB, DCB, and BCIS competed fiercely. Our athletes from Middle and High school left an indelible mark, clinching multiple medals with some achievements from:

Laila O shone brightly, securing gold in the 100m, 200m dash, and long jump for 10-14 year-olds.
Elin C dominated the 15-19 year-old category, winning gold in the 100m, 200m dash, and 100m hurdles.
Amilie S claimed gold in the 1500m for 15-19 year-olds.
Bailey G triumphed in the 100m and 200m dash for 10-15 year-olds, earning gold.
All participants demonstrated commendable sportsmanship, representing WAB with pride and integrity.

 

APAC Competition at Shanghai American School - Pudong (April 18-20, 2024)

The excitement continued at the APAC competition hosted by Shanghai American School - Pudong. Our High School athletes excelled, achieving personal bests and adding more medals to their collection:

 

Elin C showcased her talent, securing silver in the 100m hurdles.
Isabel S impressed with a gold medal in the triple jump.

ACAMIS Competition in Shanghai, Suzhou (May 3-4, 2024)

The season's highlight was the ACAMIS competition, where our athletes' dedication culminated in stellar performances, breaking personal records and earning numerous accolades. Notable achievements include:

 

Age 15-19:

Amelie S: 1st place in the 3000m and 1500m, and 2nd place in the 800m.
Myron C: 1st place in the 400m hurdles.
Isabel S: 1st place in the triple jump and long jump.
Xander M: 3rd place in the 400m hurdles.
Tano L 2nd place in the long jump.

Relay Teams:

Boys 4x200m Relay: Rueben, Tano, Bailey, Daniel
Girls 4x200m Relay: Amelie, Grace, Laila, Dakota
Girls 4x400m Relay: Amelie, Grace, Laila, Dakota

Age 10-14:

Laila Angela O: 1st place in the long jump, 200m, 100m, and 400m.
Bailey G: 1st place in the 200m, 100m, and 400m.
Jona L: 3rd place in the 1500m.
Gustav S: 3rd place in discus.

Relay Teams:

Boys 4x200m Relay: Bailey, Daniel, Jona, Weston - 3rd place
