Grade 9's Design Games for Grade 4's to Prototype Test
It's an exciting time for Grade 4 students as they are once again invited to test outdoor games designed and produced by Grade 9's.
High School Design teacher Luis Valencia launched the "Rock in the Park" project this year and its related design cycle, guiding students through the process of inquiring, analyzing, and researching before developing their solutions in the workshop. To create effective games, Grade 9 students first consulted the needs of their Grade 4 testers and analyzed existing products. Once the games were produced, their clients were invited back to test and provide feedback on what would enhance their designs. This comprehensive process—inquiring, researching, developing, creating, and evaluating—provides real-world learnings for all involved.
