Winter Fun as Duck Lake Opens for Ice Skating
More than 200 WAB families and friends enjoyed a historic weekend of ice skating and pond hockey on Duck Lake.
Our campus' frozen pond opened for the first time to the community on Friday, January 11. We celebrated with a festive atmosphere, which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, hot chocolate, and music.
There are many people to thank for making this opportunity possible for the first time ever at WAB. Special thanks go to all those who have contributed time, money, and resources to Duck Lake's cleaning processes, as well as the WAB Properties Team for its dedication to creating a safe and fun ice surface.
The ice surface has two designated areas: one for general skating and one for pond hockey with sticks and pucks. As long as weather permits, the rink will be open to the community Mondays-Fridays from 3:30-4:30pm and on Saturdays & Sundays from 10am-3pm. Like all of our school facilities, users must present a WAB ID card to gain access to campus, and Elementary and Middle School students must have parent supervision while on the ice. All people on the ice must be wearing a helmet at all times.
